Critical COVID-19 work in the healthcare and medical sectors carried out after 31 January 2020 in any Australian postcode area as ‘specified work’ for the purposes of second and third working holiday visas.

This new definition of specified work only applies to applications made on or after the commencement of the instruments on 19 August 2020.

The specified bushfire recovery work carried out after 31 July 2019 meets the eligibility requirements for second and third working holiday visas, if the application for the second or third WHM visa was made on or after 5 March 2020.
